Our Story
Chirping Bird Coffee is a family-owned premium coffee company based in Chicago, Illinois. Our name was inspired by our little girls, who used to wake us up every morning at 6 a.m. We’d joke that “the birds are chirping,” then head straight to the grinder to start our day with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Over those early mornings, we began dreaming about the future—what we could build together as a family, and how we could teach our kids the value of hard work that was passed down to us. That’s how Chirping Bird Coffee was born: out of love, family, and the simple joy of sharing great coffee.
Our Mission
At Chirping Bird Coffee, our mission goes beyond crafting exceptional coffee for every part of your day. We’re also committed to giving back to the real chirping birds that inspire us. For every bag sold, we donate 50 cents to the National Audubon Society to help protect and preserve the birds that fill our skies and brighten our mornings with their songs.
Why we cost more
Great coffee isn't made on an assembly line. Most shelf coffee is roasted months before it reaches your cup, designed for speed, scale, and long shelf life. Our coffee is different. We roast in small batches so every bag is fresh, flavorful, and true to its origin. We carefully source high-quality beans from responsible growers, paying more to ensure ethical practices and better tastingcoffee. That investment shows up in the cup- richer aroma, cleaner flavor, and a smoother finish. As a family run roaster, our select partners do everything by hand, from roasting to packaging. There are no shortcuts, fillers, or artificial flavors- just thoughtfully roasted coffee made with care. Also every purchase goes beyond the cup. We proudly give back to the Audubon Society, helping protect bird habitats, and the ecosystems that make great coffee possible. So again, the difference is simple. Shelf coffee is cheaper because it's made for volume. Our coffee costs more because it's fresh, responsibly sourced, small -batch roasted, and made to have a positive impact.
